  • To register with the Gaming Board Control of any state permitting, you must be offered employment as a gaming employee with a licensee. The licensee will provide you with an application packet. You will be responsible for completing forms, in addition to obtaining a complete set of fingerprints. You will need to return the complete packet, including a receipt from the fingerprinting agency, to the licensee. The licensee will submit the complete application packet to the Gaming Control Board.
  • The original authorship appearing on a website may be protected by a copyright. This includes writings, artwork, photographs, and other forms of authorship protected by copyright. Procedures for registering the contents of a website may be found in Circular 66, Copyright Registration for Online Works.
  • Trademarks are generally distinctive symbols, pictures, or words that sellers affix to distinguish and identify the origin of their products. Trademark status may also be granted to distinctive and unique packaging, color combinations, building designs, product styles, and overall presentations.
  • The Broadcast Protection Discussion Group (BPDG) is a working group comprised of a large number of content providers, television broadcasters, consumer electronics manufacturers, Information Technology companies, interested individuals and consumer activists. The group was formed specifically for the purpose of evaluating the suitability of the broadcast flag for protecting DTV content and to determine whether there was substantial support for the flag. The group completed its mission with the release of the BPDG Report.

Definition:
A representative of talent, petitioning, on their behalf, for work within the filmmaking community. Agents, by law, have the right to both solicit employment and negotiate terms for the artists they represent. Not to be confused with Manager.

Definition:
A broadcast rating service for television and radio that uses both a viewer diary method and an electronic recording and tabulating system to measure audience size and characteristics.

Media Plan or Media Buy Plan

Definition:
A part of the communications plan that details how various media will be employed. Identifies the specific schedule of paid placements that have been negotiated for an ad or collection of ads, including the times and programs during which television and radio ads will run, the locations and sizes of billboards that will be placed, the publications and placement within those publications in which print ads will run, etc.
